Woodhill Evangelical
Youth Ministry Development
We have had the privilege and pleasure of having Will Warren as Youth Pastor, and latterly Associate Pastor, at Woodhill Evangelical Church from 2009 until 2013. Will has been instrumental, along with his wife Helen, in developing the Youth Ministry.
Over this period, work among youth has developed in different, exciting ways:
- Encouraging development in the lives of the members of the existing Youth Ministry team
- The introduction of a Leaders In Training (LIT) initiative to encourage the development and involvement of those older young people who are moving beyond the YF age range.
- Strengthened relationships through the introduction of Life Groups within the Youth Ministry, offering friendship, encouragement, and accountability in the lives of our young people.
- Increased mission involvement through visits to Romania and Uganda.
- The focus of personal growth and discipleship has been reinforced in the challenge our young people encounter in the weekly study groups
- Gifting has been given the opportunity to develop. This has been seen in opportunities for those with teaching gifts as well as those with a heart for leading worship through the medium of music.
- Encouragement and care through ongoing mentoring and friendship opportunities.
- Strong links have been forged with the local high school.
These are just some of the benefits we have experienced by having the committed involvement of a Youth Pastor prepared to follow a genuine God given call to serve Him.
